Introducing Danú: Hydration, Reimagined

This last year…I don’t think there are any original ways of describing it. Of all the things that it was, my circumstances led me to create something I’ve always wanted, a business of my own.

From design and manufacturing to branding and marketing, I’ve spent the last few months putting a thought I’ve had for years on paper: a hydration bag — the same used in backpacks designed for hikers, bikers, and runners — reinvented with style for everyday use.

Two of my greatest passions are health and exploring new places. Whether traveling to a new city or just out and about on a normal Saturday afternoon, I found it difficult to stay hydrated on the go. Heavy metal water bottles rolling around in our bags, the water spilling down the sides when the train suddenly braked, and the unforeseen disasters of a bottle cap left open. Not to mention the hundreds of billions of plastic water bottles bought on the go and discarded each year.

Knowing improved energy levels and a positive mood just a sip away, I wanted to design a bag that gave easy and convenient access to that life-saving H2O no matter what the day may bring — styled for everyday wear. No bright neon colors in funny-shaped backpacks, but rather a sleek and elegant design that pairs with your work and play wardrobe.

Enter my new venture, Danú. The Danú Bag is the sleek and elegant solution to staying hydrated on-the-go. A handy reservoir and sipping straw means users have access to water while traveling the world, during a stroll in the park, or at a concert with friends.

I’ll be sharing more about the journey here (the first sample should arrive within the month!) and welcome any and all tips, tricks, and words of encouragement. In the meantime, please visit DanuBags.com to sign-up to stay in the loop, and follow Danú Bags on Instagram and Facebook.

Oh, and wondering about the name? Danú means river, and, in Irish mythology, Danu is the earth-mother goddess. This is Danú Bags in a nutshell: water the eco-friendly way, with style fit for a god(dess).
